Accounts, transaction entry, budgets, recurring items, reports, and forward-looking calculations run from the local database. You can keep one device as the complete working copy and export backups on your own schedule.

“No required cloud” is more accurate than “no cloud ever.” Optional encrypted Sync uses a relay when enabled, and cloud AI is available only when you configure a provider. Neither is required for the everyday budget and expense workflow.

Simply Finance does not need to fetch your ledger before it can show a balance or save a transaction. Your accounts, categories, budgets, recurring items, and reports are computed from data already on the device.

That makes ordinary use fast and predictable, and it limits the damage a service outage can cause: the app keeps working.

Full Version can move encrypted changes between your devices. The recovery phrase supplies the key; the relay stores and forwards ciphertext it cannot turn into balances, merchants, or amounts.
